I Do

I Do!

As I sat in the bathroom ready to have a bath after a long tiring day trying so hard to unwind. This scripture just popped in my head. (Ecclesiastics 12:1). It says… Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, Before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them”.

I just couldn’t wait to finish bathing. Everything was kind of rush as my head was beginning to get filled with words, then sentences, then paragraphs. I quickly had to jump out of the bath a bit wet and grab my laptop. So here it goes….

..During a marriage ceremony, both the bride and groom say their wedding vows including the line; for better for worse; in sickness and in health; till death do us part.

When you make your vow to the Lord by inviting Him into your life; it’s not just for better or for worse it is till eternity. In fact it is the beginning of your courtship with the Lord. You begin a journey with Him. In challenging and happy times He will be with you. He says in His word, I will never leave you nor forsake you. Is like the illustration given by – Mary Stevenson who wrote the poem ‘Footprints in the sand’ One night I dreamed a dream.

As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.

After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.

This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
“Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You’d walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don’t understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me.”

He whispered, “My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you.”

The Lord is preparing His bride for the marriage supper.

Are you ready?

Do not wait until is too late and you can’t say, “I do”.

Do not waste your years whiles you are still waiting.

The Lord has already purchased the ring your heart so desire.

He is waiting for you to say YES!

He’s paid the bride price.

Are you ready? Then say I do!

Invite Him today.

Oh you know that that excitement you feel when the one you love proposes to you is nothing compares to falling in love with your maker.

Do you want to try Him?

He loves you sooo much!

Oh taste and see that the Lord is good!

God’s love never fails! x
