Scripture
2 Corinthians 5:7
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
Welcome to today’s devotional. Today’s reflection and prayer is: “Walking by Faith, Not by Sight.”
There are moments when what we see doesn’t match what we believe God has promised. The answer hasn’t come, the door hasn’t opened, and the situation seems unchanged.
This is where faith becomes real.
Think about Abraham. God promised him that he would become the father of many nations, yet for years Abraham and Sarah remained without the promised child. Humanly speaking, time seemed to be running out. But Abraham continued learning to trust the God who had spoken.
Faith doesn’t mean ignoring reality. It means believing that our present circumstances are not greater than God’s power and purpose.
Sometimes God shows us the destination without revealing every step of the journey. We want the whole map, but God may simply say, “Trust Me with the next step.”
Perhaps you’re praying for your family, waiting for an opportunity, believing for a breakthrough or facing an uncertain future. Don’t allow what you see today to determine what you believe about tomorrow.
Keep praying. Keep obeying. Keep trusting.
Some Practical Steps
Remember God’s promises. Let Scripture speak louder than your circumstances.
Take the next step. You don’t need to understand the entire journey to obey God’s next instruction.
Refuse to feed fear. When anxious thoughts arise, turn them into prayer.
Remember God’s faithfulness. Look back at what God has already brought you through.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You that You see what we cannot see.
Help us to walk by faith and not by sight. When circumstances discourage us, remind us of Your promises. When we cannot understand what You are doing, give us grace to trust Your heart.
Strengthen our faith as we wait. Give us courage to take the next step of obedience, even when we cannot see the entire journey.
May fear not control our decisions, and may uncertainty never cause us to forget Your faithfulness.
Today, we choose to trust You, follow You and believe that You are working even when we cannot yet see the outcome.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Today’s Insight
Faith doesn’t require us to see the whole journey; it asks us to trust the One who already knows the way.
