ISIS Takes Credit for Manchester Bombing

The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for a horrific attack in Manchester, UK that killed 22 and injured nearly 60 others, reports

The attack occurred at the end of an Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena. Thousands of people were in attendance, particularly a large number of women and children, which has led some experts to note that the Islamic State likely specifically targeted the event for this reason.

Officials believe the attack was a suicide bombing. Multiple sources and concert-attendees testified that they heard explosions and even felt the explosions in their chest as they rushed out of the Arena.

This morning, the city of Manchester is in mourning, as is the rest of the world. Stories of victims and survivors are still emerging and world leaders have expressed condolences and solidarity with the British people.

While on his trip to Israel, from the Holy Land, President Trump called on “all civilized nations” to stand together against terrorism and to “obliterate this evil ideology,” reports Fox News.

UK Prime Minister Theresa May stated, “We are working to establish the full details of what is being treated by the police as an appalling terrorist attack. All our thoughts are with the victims and the families of those who have been affected.”

Police are in the process of determining whether the perpetrator was a result of homegrown terrorism or if he was in the UK from somewhere closer to the Islamic State’s stronghold in the Middle East.
